Student Daily Flow
The Morning Mastery:
Students spend their morning half of the academic day focused on rigorous, academic instruction in reading and mathematics. Little Buds are engaged with instruction through whole group curiosity and challenged at their individual levels through small, intensive groupings with the teacher. The morning instruction provides the foundation in student learning and proficiency in reading and mathematics. With this foundation, students can apply their skills to real-world applications and enrichment activities of their unique interests through project-based learning.
The Midday Bloom:
Little Buds spend the middle of their day engaged in free play and physical gross motor activity. They are allowed space and time to nourish their bodies, needs, and refuel before transitioning to the second half of their day. Our class community uses this time to play, rest, and recharge together. This time of the day is typically spent outside if weather permits.
The Afternoon Inquiry:
The afternoon portion of the day is filled with inquiry, curiosity, and integrated enrichment. Students apply their skills in Reading and Mathematics through the real-world applications of Science and Social Studies. Little Buds experience integrated enrichment to incorporate Art, Music, Creative Expression, Social-Emotional Learning, and Technology throughout thematic units during the academic year.
